My name is Sophia Balderaz.  I have been teaching for 26 years.  I attended West Texas A&M University and received my bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies.  My teaching certificate enables me to teach early childhood-12th grade.  My first teaching assignment was in a self-contained classroom at Aikman Elementary.  I was there for three years.  Although I enjoyed my time at Aikman Elementary, I was ready to make the move to high school.  Special Education is my passion.  My students challenge me everyday to be the best teacher I can be.  My favorite part of teaching is when I see that proud look in their eyes when they learn something new.
